The Messara sporting club is organizing a fencing competition with the name ‘’ 8th FESTOS CUP’’under the wing of the Greek fencing federation. You are being notified of the official announcement and useful information for all participants.
You are advised to complete the applications by Tuesday July 2nd at 15:00 or even earlier combining the games with some vacations . This will help us with the equipment and the referees .
Last day for your applications is Thursday July 4th 2019. Given the chance we invite you to travel to our island and enjoy a three day competition. In about two weeks time you will be sent additional information for the co-organizers and any funding we may have fo your transportation from and to the Pereas port.

Competition announcement of “ 8th Festos Cup”
The Messara Sporting Club and the Greek Fencing Federation, under the wing of the municipality of Festos , is organizing a fencing competition with the name “ 8th FAISTOS CUP”.
Epee Individual men – women competition ( official, no score winning games) held on Saturday July 6th 2019.
At the same time the Messara Sporting Club under the wing of the Municipality of Festos is holding the above games:
1. Epee & Foil Individual boys and girls competitions ( official , no score winning games) on Friday July 5th 2019.
2. Epee Team mixed sex games ( at least one woman in every team) on Sunday July 7th 2019.
The games will be held in the INDOOR GYM in MOIRES CRETE (Municipality of Festos). All the official Hellenic Fencing Federation regulations will be enforced.
Athletes who want to participate should have a valid sporting card of any county or a doctor’s verification.
1. Epee & Foil Individual boys and girls competitions
The venue of the game is set the Indoor Gym in the sporting center in Moires, on Friday July 5th 2019.
The right to participate have all athletes with a valid sporting card of any country, born between
0 1/01/2006 till 29/ 06/ 2009 for the B category and for the A category those who were born from
30 / 06/ 2009 till 29 / 06 / 2011.

The right to participate have all athletes with a valid sporting card of any country, OR a doctor’s verification that enables them to take part in the games and were born before 30 / 06 /2006.
The team can participate on condition there is at least one woman in it.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
All participants must be at the venue of the games at least 30min. before the beginning of the games and hand in their sporting card or any verification they possess.
The athletes are competing on their own responsibility. In case of an accident the organization committee
bears no responsibility ,however the Messara Sporting Club will have ensured the medical coverage of the participants.
The organizing committee is entitled to differentiate the programmer or the categories according to the participations.
MEDICAL COVERAGE
A doctor will be present during the games.
EQUIPMENT – UNIFORM
All athletes should be equipped with the necessary personal equipment in accordance with the international regulations . For maximum security extra care has to be given to the CHEAST PROTECTOR which should definitely be 800 Newton.
GAME REGULATIONS
During the games , all the national FIE regulations as well as this announcement will be enforced.
The individual games will be held with the system of the leagues and after with the elimination
system till the final.
The team games will be defined after a draw and the games will be eliminating till the final.
The president of the organizing commette is the president of the Messara Sporting club Mr.Sfakianakis Michalis and the director of the games is the coach of the club Mr. Foustanakis Dimitris.
Referees : A representative of the national referee committee will be set and referees of the PASUPKO as well as experienced athletes.
COST OF PARTICIPATION
Individual Games : 10.00 euro Team games : 30.00 euros per team.
APLICATIONS
The applications must be sent through e- mail on the alm@xifaskia.com by Tuesday July 2nd at 15:00. The entry fee will be given on the day of the games to the organizing committee.
Further information for the games , accommodation and diet will be provided within May.
